Roger’s Dream Team member

Rachel Gilhuis

At four years old, Rachel is a rookie on the Dream Team squad. She’s shy around the hockey media and sometimes even in the dressing room so having her brother Mathew on the squad helps her feel more at home.

Like her brother, and older sister Sarah who passed away earlier this year, Rachel has a rare degenerative disease called Sanfilippo Syndrome. As a result, she attends Roger’s House monthly with her brother to enjoy some respite for both of them and their devoted parents.

At the House, the huge therapeutic tub is one of Rachel’s favorite spots for long, luxurious bubble baths. As an elite Dream Team member, she recognizes the importance of looking after herself. Everyone that knows her knows that she’s a die-hard fan… not of the Sens but of the big purple guy, Barney. She dances around while watching his latest adventure.

Rachel is also committing this year’s Walk, Roll and Run to her sister Sarah.
