Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House

Roger’s Dream Team member

Rhys Chubb

At 16-years old Rhys is one of the veteran members of the Dream Team. He brings experience to the dressing room, a mature hand on the tiller.

Although Rhys has Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy, it is a liver disease called Biliary Atresia that has brought him in contact with Roger’s House. In 2009, he went into liver failure and is on a waiting list for a transplant. For now, medications are helping to provide him with a relatively normal life.

All these challenges make Rhys the competitor that he is. Regardless of his challenges, he continues to embrace life. Playing music like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley and UB40 are some of his pre-game activities.

When not on the Dream Team, swimming and horseback riding are some of his other favorite activities.

Rhys and his family enjoyed some Sens games this past season and he really loved them because he could cheer as loud as he wanted and no one told him to be quiet. He also attended the Black Eye Peas concert with his brothers at Scotiabank Place. Rhys has a feeling that this year’s Walk, Roll and Run is going to be the best ever. He’s pleased about that because spending respite time at Roger’s House is fun for him and good for his loving family.
