Roger’s Dream Team member

Sienna Beaudoin

Eleven-year old Sienna keeps things light in the dressing room with her witty sense of humour and personable charm. She comes to the team with a lot of experience having once engaged former Ottawa Senator Mike Fisher in a highly competitive game of air hockey.

When not being a member of the Dream Team, Sienna and her family enjoy participating in Roger’s House events like the Christmas and Halloween celebrations. These allow Sienna to see her special friends and her parent enjoy the opportunity of spending time with other parents who share some of their experiences.

Sienna gets her fighting spirit from the life-long battle she’s waged with Severe Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenital (AMC), a condition caused in her case by a virus which affected neurological cells in her spine and impacted normal development of her motor nerves. Because of this, all joints of her body, including her jaw, are affected. She cannot flex and/or extend them and it is more of a challenge for her to swallow and breathe. Sienna is tube fed. None of this slows her down however, as witnessed by how she drives her power chair, something she’s be doing proficiently since she was 3 years old!
